 Liz Magor (1948)

An important Canadian sculptor, Liz Magor was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and lives in Vancouver, British Columbia. Her art is discussed in most of the comprehensive books about Canadian contemporary art and conceptual art and she is the subject of a lengthy article in the Canadian Encyclopedia. Her installations*, assemblages*, photographs and sculptures have been widely exhibited in solo and group shows throughout Canada and around the world at major venues such as the Canadian Biennial of Contemporary Art, the Sydney Biennale, the Venice Biennale* and Documenta* 8. Her works are in the permanent collections of numerous museums including the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Montreal Museum of Contemporary Art and the National Gallery of Canada.
